This is me

People often ask me what I do for a living. It’s a hard question to answer, as I do so many things these days. But the common thread is that I like to improve things. Whether that’s improving a process, someone’s data or someone’s life, I’m happy to jump in and tackle it.

I specialise in improving data flows and customer experiences – this blends my marketing skills with my analytical skills and provides a sense of fulfilment when a situation is made better because of something I’ve done or suggested.

My former boss once told me

“There are architects and there are bricklayers, and I know which one you are”.

The problem is, I don’t. At times, I’m as happy making and laying bricks (finding and cleaning data) as I am at designing a building (CX process) and I think that’s the beauty of it – being able to do everything in the spectrum from data gathering, structuring, mining and exploiting puts me in a great position to understand the whole process – no matter which bit I’m asked to do.

So if you’re looking to improve your customers’ experiences, then I’d be happy to help.

Or if you have unruly data, or even if you think you have no data, I can help sort you out.

If your data is well structured, but you just don’t know what to do with it, then I’m definitely worth a call.

And if you’re paying for data, reports or information, but just don’t have the time to make use of it, then I’m pretty sure I can help there too.

And don’t be worried that I’ll bamboozle you with tech stuff – I won’t – I’m not a techy person. My background is in marketing, and my passion is about getting customer value or competitive advantage from the resources at your disposal. My passion isn’t about technical code or solutions – I prefer to leave that to the experts (with a good brief of course!).

But maybe you’re just curious or interested in the topics – well I am too, so I’m adding lots of stuff here that I come across and find interesting, from book reviews to blogs and ideas from my own head – so fill your boots and enjoy!
