I love detail. I’m very excited that since my husband bought me a microscope for my birthday, I can see things in even better detail than before. I’ve discovered that what appear to be red lines on the pages of my passport are actually the names of the fishing areas around the UK coast, which makes me think of the shipping forecast in all its glorious poetic rhythm. You can barely see these with the naked eye. I’d recommend a USB digital microscope for the curious mind…

Apostrophe2I just can’t stop proof-reading things. That’s not to say all my own writing is grammatically perfect, or without the odd spelling mistake or typo, but I do try, I really do. Like many people though, the misuse and abuse of apostrophes drives me crazy. I have been known to carry a Sharpie in my bag and make my own corrections…
